Elon Musk Bids Farewell at White House — Sporting a Black Eye

Elon Musk, who was appointed by President Donald Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), made his final public appearance at a farewell ceremony held at the White House. But it wasn’t just the end of his short tenure that caught everyone’s attention — it was the noticeable bruise under his left eye.

Musk explained the black eye, saying that his 5-year-old son, X, accidentally punched him while they were horsing around. The unexpected revelation brought laughter and surprise to the room.

President Trump praised Musk as “one of the most productive figures in modern American history,” emphasizing that Musk’s contributions to the country were far from over. “He’s not really leaving,” Trump said, presenting Musk with a symbolic plaque of appreciation.

Musk’s term as head of DOGE lasted just 130 days. His ambitious goal was to cut $2 trillion in government spending. While that mark wasn’t fully met, the agency reported savings of $175 billion through asset sales, cancellation of leases and grants, fraud detection, and the layoff of 260,000 federal employees.
